Microsoft Word Resume Template - Another Alternative

Microsoft Word Resume Template will help you to use templates from Microsoft either through Microsoft Word or access them online from Microsoft.

The key word here is Resume. If you can create a Resume and get a job, it has fulfilled it's purpose.

The purpose of the Resume is to get you an interview. Once you have an interview then the Resume has accomplished its purpose.

Whichever format is used, it should answer most of the interviewer's questions to want to meet you before hiring you.

One way to find out what questions the interviewer has is by analyzing the job announcement, or ad for the position you're seeking.

The job announcement or ad would have the requirements for the position of interest.

By matching your background, experience and skill set to the prospective employer's requirements, the interviewer will more likely grant you an interview.

So let us examine how to access the Microsoft Word Resume template:

Start Word 2002:

  • Select "Start" at the left bottom corner of the Desktop screen.
  • Select "All Programs", "Office", "Microsoft Word".
  • At the top of the Microsoft Word window, you can see four horizontal bars.
    • The first row is the Title Bar and shows "Document1 - Microsoft Word" (default).
    • The second row is the Menu Bar (default).
    • The third row is the Formatting Toolbar.
    • The fourth row is the Standard Toolbar.
    • The fifth row is the Ruler.
Access the Microsoft Word Resume template through Microsoft Word:

  • If the Task Pane does not show up on the right of the Microsoft Word window then follow the steps below:
    • Move the mouse pointer to the Menu Bar and select "View", and "Task Pane".
  • In the "Task Pane" to the right, select under "New from templates", "General Templates".
  • Select the "Other Documents" tab to the right.
  • There are three choices of resume templates, "Contemporary", "Elegant", and "Professional" along with the "Resume Wizard".
  • Please investigate if any of those choices are applicable to your circumstances.
  • If these choices do not satisfy your requirements, please go to the next step.
Access the Microsoft Word Resumer template through Microsoft's website:

  • In the "Task Pane" to the right, select under "New from templates", "Templates on Microsoft.com".
  • In the Templates Homepage, move downward under the "Browse Templates" subheading, select "Resumes and CVs".
  • In the Browse by Category subheading, you have three choices: Basic, Job Specific, Situation Specific.
    • The Basic Category has 25 resume choices.
    • The Job Specific Category has 94 choices.
    • The Situation Specific Category has 12 choices.

So you can see you have many choices from the Microsoft Word Resume template.

With all the many choices you have on the Microsoft Online site, you're bound to find something for you.

Again with a well-chosen resume, you're chances of getting that job interview has just increased.

Thanks again for the Microsoft Word Resume template for making this possible.
