HP dv9330us

Mobility – a simple answer to silly questions pertaining to desktop/laptop dilemma.
Stay away from HP dv9330us, though.
This box came with a factory-installed Vista OS and needless to say, none of my older MS programs worked. Contacting HP support was quite enlightening; quote: “you can not go back to XP on this machine because it's hardwired for Vista..., and many of your older applications will NOT work...”, etc.
Funny thing? After formatting the hdd, turning this thing into a pure Linux box and installing all of my old windows apps under Wine, everything works.
Recommendation? Most of the brands marketed today are good. Any Linux laptop will do just fine.
Windows 7 is another disaster in the making, stay away from it.
