I've had Zonealarm for a while now and it's nice to know when programs are trying to connect to your system.

You would not be able to detect any programs on your own so you need something like this program.

Everytime a program tries to connect to my computer, Zonealarm notifies me which program is trying to do that.

My thought is as long as I'm familiar with that program because it's on my system then I'm fine with the connection.

This option gives me the ability to allow or deny access to my computer.

It not only allows me protection from the internet but also does the same over my home network.

So whether at home or in an office you have protection from other users on your network.

So even though this version is free, I feel confident that I'm receiving the protection my system requires to protect my personal information.

On the other hand, you may feel better purchasing the ZoneAlarm Security Suite if you needed the additional features.

If you wanted to share files and printing with other computers on the same network, there are some challenges.

You have to know about IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to troubleshoot your network.

That's because your IP address is arbitrarily assigned so it's constantly changing and Zonealarm needs to be reset.
