The market that seems to be supplying refurbished computers are mainly coming from large companies who are upgrading every year. You need to check for CPU speed, RAM memory, Hard Drive space, CD/DVD, LAN connection, with or without a Monitor, with or without an Operating System. Price will be affected by the following features:

The software you use and the graphics capabilities required by them will determine the speed and storage capacity you'll need. Given all these factors one thing comes to mind and that is a beginning user would not be able to do all this. So having a friend familiar with computers would be helpful.
